Cthulhu

The hollow hills

Idris Fine set down their pen to gaze across the tranquil landscape of Orcop’s pastoral lands, rolling hills and lush green thickets. After wandering for a spell Idris’s eyes came eventually to rest on the geometric tower of a church that thrust awkwardly skyward from this vista of natural beauty.

The summer had been kind to Orcop bringing a bountiful harvest and relief to the community who busied themselves with activities befitting the good weather safe in the knowledge that the winter would be softened by the fruits of their labor.

Idris and a small band fellows had set off from London in the early spring playing their pantomimes for the harvest festivals as they traveled the countryside. They had been rather successful in this endeavor accumulating a stockpile of food and coin so here, in Orcop, they decided to rest, recoup and plan for the city shows of the winter season.

This was time That Idris would use to bask in the stories of old, folklore and myth, tales traded by the fireside, passed from father to son, mother to daughter or perhaps locked up in the musty bell tower of the old Orcop church.
